Not a surprise for me. Since i saw his performance in the Vans' movie Get 'n Classic, i'm sure he's one of the best of the world, a true charger.

The Wave of the Winter judging panel unanimously selected John Florence as the winner of the Clif Bar Overall Performance Award. Florence wins $2500 and will split a $6000 donation between three local charities -- Sion
Milosky Memorial Fund, Maui Ola Foundation and Kokua Hawaii Foundation. 

This episode is basically about the epic Volcon Pipe Pro Final Heat between John John Florence and Jamie O'Brien.

He was born in New Jersey, but went to school in Pensylvania. So technically, he was a shuubie for a good portion of his life.
Here we can see him and some friends pulling into some barrels at home.
